NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: “The Breakfast Club,” one of New York’s most iconic hip-hop radio shows, is coming to an end. The show’s co-host, Angela Yee, broke the internet after announcing the big news via Twitter. The award-winning radio show was the flagship station for Power 105.1 and has aired in more than 90 radio markets in the United States, including Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Miami.
“The Breakfast Club” is hosted by Charlamagne tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy who, on social media, enjoy a huge following. The famous hip-hop show debuted in 2010 and gave us many iconic moments, from Soulja Boy interviews to Kodak Black wearing a ski mask for his 2018 interview. The show also made headlines for an open discussion on whether rapper 6ix9ine should be invited back. on the show or not following his arrest on federal racketeering and firearms charges. Why is ‘The Breakfast Club’ ending?
Taking to Twitter, ‘The Breakfast Club’ co-host Angela Yee wrote, “The breakfast club as you know it is officially over.” This quickly led to chaos on social media. Minutes before the big hit, Angela tweeted, “GOD is good! apparently referring to his co-host Charlamagne tha God. The other two co-hosts – Charlamagne and DJ Envy – are in to weigh in on MEAWW will keep you posted.
The social networks of ‘The Breakfast Club’ also did not publish anything official on the situation. Explaining why the popular radio show is coming to an end, Angela didn’t spill the wick. There were a few rumors that the co-hosts didn’t like each other, but nothing substantial ever came out. Also, Charlamagne tha God is busy hosting his new series “Hell Of A Week With Charlamagne tha God” and his focus elsewhere could be the reason for the end of the show. ‘The Breakfast Club’ on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 featured the three hosts chatting with rapper Royce da 5’9” and Courtney Bell.
In January 2020, the show was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the Outstanding News/Information (Series or Special) category, while in July 2020, ‘The Breakfast Club’ was nominated for induction into the Radio Hall of Famous.

“The three hosts hated each other”
Social media users flocked to Twitter as soon as Angela Yee made the big announcement. “Charlamagne carried The Breakfast Club for over 10 years,” claimed one user while another posted, “So sad. Too many good times in there, but the 3 hosts hated each other.”
One user tweeted, “Yee!! Congratulations but what?! When can we get the details?” Echoing similar sentiments, another asked, “What caused that.
One user said: ‘They’re mad at the fate Charlamagne took I bet! He is doing the work of God and anyone who does will be muzzled and silenced. Not to say that Angela and DJ Envy aren’t, but antagonist @cthagod has completely evolved as a man and you know how they say “it ain’t pretty”.
One fan said: “Breakfast Club certainly had historic cultural moments. gotta love those times. One person asked, “Charlemagne sticks around, doesn’t he?”
One concluded, “There are so many amazing YOUNG Black voices that can replace the breakfast club moving forward. I really hope the powers that be do the right thing here.
