SiriusXM’s premium radio service is now available for free

SiriusXM is now the latest company to start offering free premium service during the coronavirus pandemic. At the end of March, the satellite radio company announced that it was offering a free premium service until May 15!

Listeners will now have access to all of their 300 unique radio channels. The premium service also includes access to a handful of dance and electronic music channels, such as BPM and Diplo’s Revolution.

BPM – one of the most popular EDM channels in SiriusXM’s catalog – features segments from big names like Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki and The Chainsmokers. Likewise, Diplo’s Revolution regularly features segments hosted by Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Party Favor, and more.

You don’t even need an account to access this free service. Simply download the SiriusXM app or go to free web player to start listening.

Make up for the lost pleasure

This move by SiriusXM is an attempt to get everyone to stay home and practice social distancing. It is difficult to isolate yourself for long periods of time. So, incentivizing with free services is a method that many entertainment companies use.

Apple is offering 90-day free subscriptions for its music streaming platform, as well as 90-day free subscriptions for their Logic Pro X audio software. Other companies like Bandsintown and Bandcamp have set up relief funds to help musicians affected by the this pandemic. And that’s one of the countless livestream events that have sprung up to make up for lost revenue from live shows and fan experiences.
