Radio host Liz Delany quit her job at Zimmer Communications, the Columbia company that brought her show with Kevin Howard back to the air last year.
In a public Facebook post, Delany alleged that she “was put in a position by a superior where I felt bullied and intimidated.”
“Even after telling them I had mental health issues, they showed no compassion,” she said in the Oct. 23 post. “I felt like I had no other choice.
“I love this community and it has been an absolute privilege to serve you for the past 23 years.”
The show’s Facebook page has now been changed to “Kevin in the Morning on 98.7 The Dove”. The radio station’s website also switched to the new branding.
Howard could not be reached for comment before the deadline.
Tom Ladd, director of Springfield operations for Zimmer Communications, issued a statement.
“Liz Delany has decided to leave Zimmer Communications. Kevin will remain on 98.7 The Dove Mornings as we explore opportunities to better serve our listeners, advertisers and the Springfield community,” the statement read. “We wish Liz all the best in her next venture.”
Prior to working at Zimmer Communications, Delany and Howard were co-hosts of the morning show on 105.9 KGBX FM. They were among employees laid off last year by San Antonio, Texas-based iHeartMedia Inc. (Nasdaq: IHRT), according to earlier reports.
The show returned when Zimmer Communications purchased Springfield-based Meyer Communications and launched soft rock station The Dove.
