In recent years, Ohio State and Penn State have garnered a great deal of respect for each other. Although the series has been one-sided for the past four seasons, both teams know what the other brings to the table.
No. 5 Ohio State (6-1) looked like a very different team after losing to Oregon in Columbus in Week 2, winning five in a row. The Buckeyes also allowed just under 20 points on defense during that span.
No. 20 Penn State (5-2) is looking to regain its footing after losing its last two games to Iowa and Illinois. Despite the losses, defense has been a constant for the Nittany Lions, allowing no more than 20 points on defense all year.
Sean Clifford should be available for this game which could make a huge difference in the outcome. Otherwise, Franklin expects Ta’Quan Roberson or Christian Veilleux to take over at quarterback.
Ohio State coach Ryan Day discussed the Indiana game, including how he would have handled a nine-overtime game, and Penn State’s defense on his weekly radio show Thursday.
Here’s what the coach had to say:
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day on @971lefan radio program:
He said he had to face veterans angry at Indiana telling them they wouldn’t play in the second half.
Expects TreVeyon Henderson to play four quarterbacks against Penn State.
