Danny Bonaduce takes medical leave from his radio show – Deadline


Ancient Partridge family Actor Danny Bonaduce, 62, announced on Twitter today that he is taking sick leave from his Seattle radio show “The Danny Bonaduce & Sarah Morning Show” on KZOK.

“Some news to share,” the actor wrote above a photo of himself with a red cane in his hand. “I’m taking temporary medical leave from my radio show. I will share more when I know more. I am still working to receive a diagnosis. What I do know is that I need time to focus on my health. I love my job and talking to you guys and I’ll be back on the air soon.

Referring to the cane, he added below: “Charlie Chaplin, Willy Wonka, Danny Bonaduce. I joined the club of cool guys with canes.

Bonaduce didn’t have the easiest path in life, starting with child stardom. According to his own account, he suffered severe physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his father. As a result, he often stayed at the home of Partridge Family co-star Shirley Jones to avoid beatings.

In 1990, he was arrested trying to buy cocaine while in Florida hosting a DARE event. In 1991, Bonaduce was arrested in Phoenix for beating and robbing a prostitute, whose nose he broke.

In 2007, he was investigated for criminal battery after, at the Fox Reality Awards, he dumped the former Survivor contestant Johnny Fairplay over his shoulder after Fairplay hugged him on stage. The LADA later found that Bonaduce acted in self-defense.
