Abstrakt Dance is known to be one of the most influential UK radio shows for the electronic music scene, providing a huge platform for DJs and artists.

In the summer of 2021, Dale aired a few shows which he has now started archiving on YouTube.

“The restart of the show was primarily driven by the Covid-19 lockdown,” Dale said. Resident Advisor. “After a few months without a club, I thought it was the perfect way to connect with clubbers who themselves weren’t able to go out. I also have a keen interest in videography so it was also the perfect way to marry the two passions.”

Speaking about the new show, Dale said: “[It’s] actually very different from what I featured on Kiss FM with the keyword ‘presentation’.”

“On Kiss FM shows I would talk after a lot of tracks and give information about them, I had interviews with key DJs and producers, competitions, short guest mixes, occasional phone calls and above all a production assistant and the latest equipment at your fingertips.”

“Live streaming is very different in that this time it’s just me all alone. I love the independence it gives me and there’s also something special about streaming from home. “

I’m not trying to make the show feel like it has a club setting, so it has a much more intimate vibe. But the biggest change is how I’m able to react instantly to listeners on the bulletin board. I discovered that over time, there is a real community that is built and that comes back to each show.”
