Chris Cuomo has said he is ending his Sirius XM Holdings weekday radio show Inc.,
citing a desire to focus on the next steps and noting that the events of the past week have been difficult for her family.
The move comes two days after Mr. Cuomo was fired from CNN following an investigation into his efforts to help his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, respond to charges of sexual misconduct.
“Although I have thick skin, I also have a family, for whom the last week has been extraordinarily difficult,” Cuomo said on Twitter Monday. “So for now, I have to take a step back and focus on what’s next. ”
Mr Cuomo also said he looks forward to reconnecting with his radio listeners at some point in the future, adding that he “would miss our conversations very much.”
The show, “Let’s Get After It With Chris Cuomo,” has aired on weekdays since 2018. The program spawned a podcast of the same name that ran three times a week and featured Mr. Cuomo’s thoughts on the news, his family, his hobbies. and his favorite music.
SiriusXM said the show was canceled and thanked Mr. Cuomo for his work.
CNN fired Chris Cuomo on Saturday after New York Attorney General Letitia James’s office released documents showing the presenter played a bigger role than was previously widely known to help his brother, including checking with from sources if any stories about Andrew Cuomo’s accusers were forthcoming and giving detailed commentary on his brother’s statements to the press. A law firm told CNN that the network had reason to fire Mr. Cuomo after he said the presenter violated network standards and practices.
Chris Cuomo said on Twitter on Saturday that he was disappointed with his CNN exit and thanked his colleagues.
