Angela Yee quits ‘The Breakfast Club’ for her own radio show


Radio host and media personality Angela Yee was part of the popular radio show The breakfast club since its inception in 2010. But all good things must come to an end, because the lip service the host announced on the air that she would be leaving The breakfast club focus on other activities.

Angela Yee’s relationship with her co-hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy has been well documented throughout the show. Many thought Yee would eventually leave the show to do her own thing, and it would only be a matter of time before she did.

Angela Yee clarified she was leaving ‘The Breakfast Club’

Yee’s original announcement stuck breakfast club fans confused as to what would happen to the series. Many have wondered if The breakfast club was officially over. The day after sharing his tweet, Yee revealed his intentions live on The breakfast club.

“It’s really exciting, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for years now, long before the pandemic hit,” she said. “It has always been one of my goals to have [my own radio show].”

She admitted that she originally planned to balance being on The breakfast club to have his own show, whether it’s on the weekend or at any other time. “I thought I would always be here and do this show as well, but years later they approached me here at iHeart…and said they were going to give me my own show.”

” I am going to leave The breakfast club“, she confirmed. Her new untitled show will be a nationally broadcast daily radio show. She will juggle hosting the show lip service podcast.

Yee is looking forward to her new radio show

Yee expressed how happy she was to move forward with this next chapter in her career.

“It’s really exciting,” she said. “I honestly can’t believe it. I know it took a long time for this to happen.

“It’s just a tremendous opportunity,” she continued. “I feel extremely grateful, extremely blessed to have something truly monumental.”

“As far as having a nationally broadcast show, and someone in my position — a woman, a black woman — here,” she said, “It’s a rarity , and it’s a great opportunity, and it’s not something that I take lightly, so I’m really excited.
